HIRE THE BAND
The Music for Youth Regional Festival is a unique and fantastic opportunity for young musicians to perform live and share their music, listen to performances from other groups, meet other musicians and gain invaluable advice and guidance from professional musicians and music educators: our Music Mentors. It is open for musicians aged 21 or under. The Dartford Festival took place at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford Grammer School on 27th February 2026. The Band opened with British Grenadiers followed by El Cumbanchero and Mission Impossible including members of our Corps of Drums. We finished with Everyone Needs Somebody to Love.
The finale of our Spring Concert, featuring our special guests, the Band of the Irish Guards so it had to be something Irish! We welcomed members of the Band of the Irish Guards to our Bandroom for a workshop during the half-term holiday and they joined us again for our Spring Concert on 1st March. Our Corps of Drums join the Band for this performance of 'Mission Impossible' from the series of films starring Tom Cruise based on the 1966 television series. Each year the Brentwood Imperial Youth Band stages some fund raising concerts at the beginning of December. The tickets for this years 3 concerts sold out very quickly and we are very grateful for the interest and support. These are our main fund raising activity of the year and their success makes it possible for us to pay the essential bills for the year. Over 100 musicians took part in this years concerts with the yougest just 9 years old and an average of 14. Previous music experience is not necessary to join - we provide tuition and an instrument - just an appitite to learn and have fun in th eprocess. #christmasconcert #missionimpossible #merrychristmas

The modern-day Christmas crooner is Michael Bublé … but when you need someone to bring that magic live, we don’t need to look very far! Featuring a terrific trio of Sgt Izzy on vocals, Drum Major Dan on guitar and Sgt Sam on solo trumpet. Here’s our take on the Christmas classic “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”, captured live at our Saturday Christmas Concert. Membership of the Band is open to all from 10 years old - no musical experience is necessary. We provide tuition and instrument for just £1 per week. We are volunteer run Charity and was pleased to be awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for voluntary organisations, in 2022.
We have many great young musicians within the band and each year one is chosen for the award of 'Musician of the year'. Sarah, 15 years old. is the first person to win the award two years running and performed the celebrated oboe classic 'Gabriel's Oboe' at our 2025 Christmas Concerts. Membership of the Band is open to all from 10 years old - no musical experience is necessary. We provide tuition and instrument for just £1 per week. We dedicate this video of The Brentwood Remembrance Day Parade 2025 to Mr Fred Adamson, of the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI), part of "The Polar Bears", the 49h (West Riding) Infantry Division, who passed away on 12th Sept 2025 aged 105 yrs. One of the last of an incredible generation. We Will Remember Them. The Band is proud to keep the 'Polar Bear alive' - the emblem of the 49th West Riding Division whose long history should not be forgotten including the liberation of much of the Netherlands 80 years ago. There were some 90 members on parade raging in age from 10 years upwards. It was the first Rememberance Parade for 17 of the musicians. Membership of the Band is open to all those 10 years or older. No musical experience is necessay, we provide tuition, instrument for just £1 per week. We practise on Monday and Thursday evenings throughout the year. We are a registered UK charity and self-funded and run entirely by volunteers, all of whom are unpaid – no payroll and no expenses. The band staff includes several professional musicians and a cast of very keen accomplished amateur hobbyists – all are motivated by first hand experience of how music can change lives. It was an honour and a privaledge to be asked to perform ahead of the Household Division's 'Military Musical Spectacular' on Thursday 17th July 2025. With some 90 members of the Band aged from just 10 years old, we marched with pride, passion and we think lots of panache. Our time on Horse Guards Parade may have been just under 30 minutes, but the impact will last a lifetime for those who had the honour to parade.
